Beard Tax Day Release & Barrel Aged Beer Festival
SATURDAY | SEPTEMBER 28 | BLACK ACRE GARDEN |2P-6P FREE | OPTIONAL GLASS PACKAGE
In 1698, Russian tsar, Peter the Great, introduced the “Beard Tax” after he visited Western Europe and liked their fashion sense. Anyone with a beard was forced to pay tax for it, and in turn given a beard token. If you were stopped by the police without a token, they would immediately shave your face on sight.
To commemorate this odd event in history, we’re hosting our annual Beard Tax Day Barrel Aged Beer Fest on Saturday, September 28, featuring the release of Beard Tax 2019 along with a lineup of rare barrel aged variants in our new Garden located at 5529 Bonna Avenue in Irvington.
Sip on special vintage and barrel aged variants, new 2019 varieties, and a wide selection of our favorite barrel aged guest beers. Fill your cellar with specialty variant bottles and 2019 Beard Tax in cans.
The festival is free to attend, but guests can choose to purchase a sample & glass package HERE.
$30 package includes:
11.2 oz Rastal Teku commemorative glass
One full 8oz pour of your choice
6 (4oz) samples of your choice
The event will run 2-6p, but the beer garden will remain open with taps flowing.
RSVP to stay up to date with news and the full beer lineup coming soon!
